In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial, Shawn and I are joining the team at Harvard's StoryWish and Chesterwood to discuss how rigorous research into the archives helped us create the book MONUMENT MAKER: Daniel Chester French and the Lincoln Memorial. How many blocks of marble did it to make the Lincoln statue? Why is one hand on the statue in a fist while the other is open? Why is the book mostly done in black and white? We'll be answering these questions and more!
